Hey guys I have a coworker that is looking for a holster to carry his ruger redhawk .44mag that has a scope on it for hunting. Any suggestions? He would like leather but not required.

I have carried more then a few big scoped pistols. I really like uncle mikes stuff. It's tuff and does not break the bank. I would have him check them out.

I'll second both the Simply Rugged and Uncle Mike's. I have a few of each and the Uncle Mike's holsters are hard to beat for the price. If you want leather, the Simply Rugged holsters are great. They're not cheap or fancy but they truly are simple and rugged.

What length is the Redhawk? If he's tall enough then a vertical shoulder holster is great. I'm not tall enough to carry a revolver with a barrel longer than about 6" in a shoulder rig.
