So it seems that I purchase a new rucksack every couple of years. Honestly, I purchase them when they are cheap as hell and usually on Sale. This year, I went a different route, and will be getting rid of some of my other packs because of the one that I just bought.
I just got my GR1 GoRuck
http://www.goruck.com/en/gr1#.U9WstLEn-WISo, first of all, I did a GoRuck challenge in June and I am signed up to do 2 more in September. I decided that if I want to continue doing these events, that I had better at least check out the Rucks that they offer. So I did, and fell in love with them. After doing a bit of research and talking with other Ruckers as well as trying one out during a training session, I decided on the GR1. Damn this a nice ruck.
Yes, these are expensive, but have a full Lifetime warranty on all of their Rucks...
http://www.goruck.com/en/scarsThere are a few caveats, but it's a pretty damn good warranty.
There isn't as much MOLLE attachments as I want, but that's okay. And I have to purchase a separate hydration bladder (To be honest, I will be buying the one that the company recommends). But, it's Made in the Good Ol USA and shipped out of Seattle.
So yes, this year I will also be turning it into my day pack for hunting deer and at a minimum will be my kill pack for elk (extra knives and all sorts of fun stuff). I have been really impressed and witnessed first hand the abuse that these rucks are able to take while doing the Challenge. I know I sound like a commercial, and admittedly I am somewhat addicted to the events. Hopefully my opinion won't change after having some deer, elk and bear blood on it...
