Why are there no dead bears yet it's been light for almost an hour?  If I didn't have to work I tell ya.

Saturday afternoon for me. I'll be 20' up over some berries with a fawn in distress call in hand.
Every thought of my being is in regards to being a high tech predator and I relish the role.

Pesky work. I've decided that I'm going to go ahead and swing by the flamingos on Sunday morning and whack one. I can wait until then.

I'm headed out for an evening walk around with a friend but don't really expect to see much yet.  I'm surprised not to log in and see some pics though...

Roger that on the pesky work thing. At least I'm getting updates from my son who is off today, and went out early in pursuit. No bear yet, but he's seen one doe and one bobcat. Having the electronic connections is a lot better than it used to be.

No luck for me today. Just got back home. Did see more sign (poo) than last week so thats good. Got bit by a dog that was off leash from his owner. One dog circled me on my bike and the other bit at my calf from behind. Nothing to stop my morning though. Got back to truck and gamie showed up. She was very nice and we chatted a bit and she checked my license.

Sounds like you should have shot a dog and at least drew blood.

I was trying not to eat chit on the bike  :chuckle:. Its awkward with a pack and rifle slung over. I need a better set up or walk. But yeah I wasn't all that happy.

No didn't mention the dog. Figured nothing could be done. It happened 15 minutes into my morning so he was long gone. It barely broke the skin, no blood or anything.

No luck for me today. I was able to get out for a little bit and call, but nothing came in. Berries weren't ripe in my area and I didn't see much sign unfortunately.

Shesh, what are the chances that you find a bear sleeping in the back of your truck on opening day?  Some guys have all the luck.

My 12 year old son pulled the trigger on his first bear at 7:30 yesterday - 4 hours of grunting later reached the truck.

Crossfit work-outs are childs play next to packing out a carcass.

Probably going out again tomorrow after we get the meat from this one processed.
