This is my first year hunting black bear in this area and I was wondering if anyone would like to point me in the right direction as far as a good location and or spot that I could start looking. If you are not going to hunt it of course. I have already been west of Leavenworth off of 97 and had no signs of black bear. Any help would be great. thank you

You could try up in the Teanaway area, plenty of bears, and lots of state land and National Forest. Best of all, there's no fires in that area right now.

You could try taking the 9738 road from the Blewett Pass highway up and over Teanaway Ridge and down to the Teanaway Valley, if you're coming from the Leavenworth direction.

You'll find lots of places to hike and get away from the roads, since there are actually more trails than roads in that country.

Good luck!
