What do you figure? 40lbs? at most 50lbs? First buck I've seen stroll through this year at work.

I think you may have 40 or so lbs hanging....maybe 20 or 25 of consumable meat and even that may be a stretch.

Tough to say, I think he weighs more than a feed bag though - I'd guess close to 60 lbs.  I think you'd be lucky to get over 20 lbs of meat.

I might have shot that buck when I was 11-12 years old but not anymore thanks.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

He looks tender, and there's more meat there than a pheasant or turkey.   :EAT:

60 pounds is about the smallest a blacktail deer will be at one year according to a study done in CA.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=10&ved=0CEcQFjAJ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fnrm.dfg.ca.gov%2FFileHandler.ashx%3FDocumentID%3D47371&ei=4szbU_GxM-bCiQKy84HoBw&usg=AFQjCNF7k9ez0cQqDHRPE0--dDrc8BDsIg&sig2=Tj16gvNlpI322SUHIt7m_g&bvm=bv.72197243,d.cGU&cad=rja

Yeah, sure... guess they've never weighed an island deer.  As H2O said, maybe 25 pounds of meat.  Not a shooter for me as an adult doe here would provide more meat.

There is also quality. I shot a small spike on the last day a few years ago. Best venison I have ever eaten. My guess, 30-35 lbs total.
