for the guys that have been scouting remember these rams will move from one end of the area two the other in a day this time of year chasing ewes. there was a bunch of sheep on the bottom half of the mountain . please be safe up there , the upper road is sketchy and those draws are not for giving . Im a big guy that can hike and pack some weight and let me tell you it was all my mind and body had in me to pack that ram and my gear off the mountain. don't take it lightly and bring a friend if those slopes freeze and ice up you could get in trouble quick.

   end of oct Temps drop and clemans can get nasty fast (just like those Asian masseuses', or so I'm told ) I 2nd coach's advice about a pack partner. I went downhill evening just before dark and it was slick with over 100 lbs on your back. Be safe and stick a big one.

Let me tell you Ric is one hell of a stand up guy . Today he's getting my ram plugged and saving me a days work . and don't worry bocat he has a couple banana's picked out for you.

That's what I was wondering about, if I had to hang out over there waiting for a biologist to show up, especially if I were to kill a ram late on Friday or the weekend. Ric did say he could probably help with that if necessary. Good to know!

Did you get a rough score on your ram?

it was late so we didn't score him . low 160s 8 1/2 years old

Don't get caught up in score . find a ram that looks go to you and take him . the sheep in that area are good representatives of cali big horns but not giants . enjoy the hunt and seeing them . I'm sure if I'd have put days into my hunt I could have found a ram that scored a little better , may be days per inch . I really felt this ram was of age class and was a good ram to take off the mountain. now I'm able to focus more time on these little deer Karl has found .....

. Haha!  Actually I do!  I think he will touch the 29" mark.  Heat waves were too bad for picks though.
