First Bear Down!

Well I woke up early this morning and grabbed my gun and looked up and seen the memorial patch for my good friend Emerson and I grabbed it and put it in my pack for good luck....he was a big gun nut ....he loved shooting and I always wanted to get him out hunting but he never did...he lost his life earlier this year so I wanted to bring him on at least one hunt with me and hope he would give me good luck and boy did it pay off...10 min. Into my hunt I could hear somthing moving around and then I spotted her tearing a tree apart...she played hide and seek for about 15 min so I snuck into 75 yds..I thought she was moving into the timber so I reached into my pocket for the call rain shadow gave me when I got a knife from him but didn't have to blow it she came out and stood broadside....one shot from the weatherby and she did a Summersault and ran into some thick nasty brush and she went silent after 75 yds...I waited for the death moan but nothing...I snuck up to the last place I seen her and found blood and lungs and a nice trail to follow and the rest is history....my buddy gave me the good luck I needed and I got my first bear.....thanks buddy RIP emerson

Emerson is looking down and proud; not for the kill necessarily but you took the time to remember him.
Cool story, thanks for sharing and congrats!

Cool bear
I'm going up to check my camera, and debating on taking the gun. It's kinda hot.
