mlgunkel, I take it that you were one of the lucky 30 that got drawn?

Saw the hunt on the regs but I don't bow hunt. Lord knows that there are plenty of Muley does running around the area....certainly need to put a few of em in folk's freezers.

I put in for that and drew it.  I wasted 4 points for deer, but those rosebush-fed does sure do eat nicely!  Also, I've got 4 buddies that all drew it with no points.  I'd be surprised if there are 30 people hunting in the unit with a bow.  I can't remember ever seeing anybody hunting when I've been hunting.  I'm anxious to see the results of the season to see if they even gave out all 30 tags.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

Are you talking about deer area 1021? Does the permit give you special access or what? Seeing as how deer area 1021 is open for late hunting Dec 9-31 I would think anyone could hunt it.I thought about checking it out as I have yet to fill my tag and it is the only place left to hunt. I just don't know anything about the area if it is all private land or what.
God Bless,
Scott

The drawing hunt was for an extra archery doe tag for December but no such luck on the special access.  The general archery deer tag does run like you said.  And, yes, it's pretty much all private since the special unit is pretty much designed to keep hunters in town or close to it.  PM sent, also.
