Definitely can. I met a game warden at one entrance I was going in on and he had no problem with it. He just wanted to make sure I had a permit.

By the way, heads up today if you are wanting a motorized permit. They are now on sale for 2015.

Did the quota go back down this year? It didn't sell out last year but the quota went out (doubled, I think). Seems like the number went down or a considerable number have been purchased in the opening few hours...

This is my first year to buy the motorized permit. It will be (hopefully) easier to get out there and scout more with my family being able to tag along. I'm also looking forward to getting my kayak out into some of the lakes and scouting further areas than I could reach on my bike.

I'm looking forward to exploring come April 1.

As for the price, I honestly still consider it a good deal coming from another state. I've paid a lot more for a hunting lease that had much fewer opportunities for game.

Question for previous purchasers...

What would happen if you got an animal down and were still searching for it after dark?  Is there a security line you can call to let them know what you're up to or do you have to be out of there, no exceptions?

You have to come back the next morning - an hour before sunrise.

I ran into two guys this year that got a nice blacktail buck and couldn't find it the evening before but were coming out Sunday around 10am.  A bear had made pretty good work of the hind quarters but they were pleased to have recover it.  The gamie happened to be at the gate checking tags so I benefited from hearing the full story.

Yeah, I'm still undecided.  More pressure & less people is the word I get too from most everyone I talk to. If my friend elects to join me I'll probably do it again.

I would be down to buddy up for this area for archery and/or rifle either species. M buddy and I do camping right. I cook well for us (stews, breakfast sandwiches, curries, etc).

Splitting the cost of the permit is also an option, as well as helping process game as well. The company and potential for shared knowledge is always a plus as well.

Splitting the cost of the permit is not an option.  Each person must have their OWN permit.  Wish it were't so but it is...
