I wish I had a good story to tell about how hard I worked for it and how far back he was in and the long stalk, but the truth is we took a little drive before dark just to get out and see if there is any activity. With my hunting clothes on and my romeos we set off to enjoy an evening drive and saw this guy was crossing an open hill side above the road on the way to our glassing spot. The rest is kinda history from there, I got lucky and was able to harvest a great bear road hunting, yes I said ROAD HUNTING!! I have put on many miles bear hunting but in August I tend to stay pretty close to the rig. I dont plan on packing very far in this heat.

He soaked up a couple 210 grain VLD like a champ and the rest is history, 180 yards up hill. He is already at the taxi. and the meat is almost done and processed.

Thanks for all the comments, I have been lucky enough to harvest quite a few bears, but just nothing this caliber. My wife is not very happy to have another bear on the wall but owell!!!

Great bear and I think I have seen that camo pattern recently. Isn't it the new Kryptek Nike Trail Runner? He must've mistaken you for someone out for an evening jog
rather be hunting a blacktail
