Blue collar lessors pics
«
on:
August 06, 2014, 07:30:34 AM »
Carissa from blue collar decoys in Idaho just sent me these latest pics of their lessors and some new mallard poses, and blues. I thought I would share them, as they don't get a lot of press but make a great product. And are 100% based in the u.s.a
I'm always surprised in western wa I don't see more people running their full body widgeon & pintails. I think their lessors are around $600 a doz & guarantee their paint
& offer repainting services. I'm not a staffer or rep. Just like to support local company's and I probably own way to many decoys.
I will probably do a full review on some of their ducks as the season approaches.

The reason you don't see them is cost. Their gesese are almost as much as a DSD, and not near the quality. Their ducks look good but are spendy.
This is coming from a guy that runs 240 GHG pro grade floaters, 48 FB GHG ducks and 120 DSD's on a regular bases.

Watch their sales this winter you could pick up 6 packs of widgeon/ pintail for around $100 so many times better than other brands at that price point
es cost has always been the issue however with Zink making it mainstream to charge $150 for 6 FB ducks I think BCD is worth taking a look at, I also run DSD lessors, and yes nothing compares but I think these come closer than others.

True but if you catch sales you pull 12 GHG full bodies for 150 with a bag.
The BCD geese look ok but they need better paint. I think both DSD and Deception have them beat in that area.

You can spend all the money you want on decoys, but if you don't have everything else working, the $600 dollar decoys doesn't mean s**t. But sometime it takes expensive decoys for someone to learn that it wasn't the decoys that were flaring the birds.
You have to have a good set up and know when to change it up before your game is up. Location, good concealment, good calling or when not to call and decent shooting ability.
I'm not trying to land birds and look over their legs and necks for bonus material. I am trying to shoot decoying birds over the decoys.
I do have DSD that I use for dark geese, but they are not necessary in most cases.
I would save some money .

Camoflauge is more important than expensive decoys.

Very true, decoys are only part of the equation some of our best shoots have been with no decoys at all sitting out in the open,no blind, with birds landing at our feet, but scouting a ton pays off when you find yourself in the very place all the birds in the area want to be.
those deception mallards are very nice as well, if I spent big bucks I'd pick some up however I can't keep paint on my newer GHG decoys, but the older oversized full body's I pick up when ever I can. If you look you can pick used FB ducks up for cheep! Get a airbrush and costom paint em! It's a nice offseason hobby.

If you want to have a conversation about killing geese thats a new thread.
I can pass shoot geese and shoot a limit. I can rake a limit over old tires. I can shot a limit on the pass over 15 yr old big foots. Though over the years I have come to want birds to land, not for bands or collars. I like watching birds REALLY work. I also like to have more confidence in my gear then I have in my abilities.
