Help me kill this bear!!
« on: August 06, 2014, 09:01:05 PM »
Hey guys I have this big bear on my camera and I'm hoping to put my eyes (and scope) on him next weekend. I have never shot a bear so I'm wondering what I should do to increase my chances of seeing this beast!

This is in a heavily reproded area behind gated roads. There are a few blackberry patches along side the road about 150 yards from where this picture was taken but not an abundant amount.

I had some Apple mash in front of my camera in June but haven't put anything out since.

Should I sit in the timber and wait to hear or catch movement, sit along side the road and watch the blackberry patches or something else?

I have no experience predator calling and it kinda freaks me out to do alone.

Any suggestions? Trying to put this calf killer down as my first Bear! Thanks guys!

I don't have much experience but did call a bear in from my tree stand the other day. If I were you I'd sit on the road near the most sign and do some calling. Or get a tree stand and call from above the road. I'd probably call with a buddy if I was gonna be on the ground.   :twocents:
Every thought of my being is in regards to being a high tech predator and I relish the role.

I've never done any predator calling so I don't really know how to do it or what to expect. And I don't have any friends that predator call or really hunt for that matter. If anyone wants to come out and help/teach I'm very willing to share and learn. I have another medium sized bear on camera too. I have no problem helping someone out for helping me out!

Sure looks like a big pile of "bait". Not sure I'd kill him right there.
