Westport salmon fish this year has had some of the craziest swings in fishing area I've seen in a really long time.
Large part of the season has been straight out or a little north and straight out, in anywhere from 200-400+ ft. of water. Then they had a great run of fish on the north beach that lasted a couple weeks. Then it was back out to the deep water. Then there was a nice little group just north of the north jetty. That seemed to turn off like a light switch and a few days later they were catching real well right out front on the bar. So close the motors barely had time to warm up.

Now they have moved quite a ways south.
I don't recall the last time the fishing areas had such big changes. Regardless, its been a great year of "catching" and that's the most important part.
