I am going to fish this fishery for the first time this year, going with a guide Lance Fisher.
2 day trip
18th and 19th of August
I'd be interested to hear any feedback on this guide from Hunt Wa members
I hope I can fish this myself next year in 18ft Duck

The 18 ft boat is more than adequate, I used to fish out of a 16 ft with no problems. We even went out over the CR bar when calmer winds were blowing. You will be there at a very good time with lots of fish and good tides.

Fishing out of a sled type boat like Lance's is just a much better experience than the big diesel charter boats. Should be fun. River was much slower than ocean this week but should be picking up. We limited by 10:30 the 3 days we went this week - ocean. Have fun!

At that time it wont matter who your guide is. Its going to be lights out as long as he knows how to spin a bait!

Lots of work, lots of fish. For me, it seems more like small scale commercial fishing than your average relaxing day in the sun.
My buddy runs the boat and I run the rods. I usually don't sit down during the trip.

It was pretty much off the charts this last weekend both in the river and on the ocean. water was a little bumpy, lots of wind on the ocean. We could not keep all 4 lines in the water. It will get nothing but better. It is an easy fishery, Even for your first time it would be no problem getting fish

Pay very close attention to where and how you fish at each stage of the tide. That's the key to the whole thing.
