2008 was a great year for hunting
« on: December 07, 2008, 07:47:47 PM »
Started the year off hunting in Alaska, shot a B&C Grizzly that I've been trying to get for about 10 years....

Hunted in Washington and just flat missed a nice buck in thick brush, also hunted Elk with SU35. No luck though. I then headed to Idaho for what was my Dad's last hunt. My 1st White Tail wasn't much of a buck, but I love the pic of me and Dad.

My 2nd buck was better, but I'm still looking for the monster. 4th year of hunting these Whitetails and I'm just now starting to figure out how to hunt them. Their smart, the "toughest to take" big game animal I've hunted to date...

Have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year all.

SU35, I told you I'd get your radio sent to you, but instead went back to Idaho for 2 weeks! I'll get it in the mail this week. Sorry about the delay.

Those dates are all messed up in the pics. I'll have to change it.

Congrats, glad you got to hunt with your dad during his last hunt, that's got to be priceless.

That bear is huge! I would love to get a big grizz in the future. Anymore pic's of it?

Scott told me this year that he has been in on 42 Grizzly kills since he's been in Alaska. He hasn't shot all of those, but he's shot quite a few.

From the looks of guide pricing, I think it would be cheaper/more cost effective just to buy a place up there and hunt as a resident than paying for a guide at 10K plus a pop!

Alaska has the "Near Kin" law which allows me to hunt with my brother and not pay guide fee's. I've figured that including the 2 Moose I've shot, I've saved about 40,000 George Washington's hunting with him!

It's an incredible hunt. The only thing that I'd like to hunt more is Cape Buffalo. Hopefully one of these days I will.
