Adams
« on: August 11, 2014, 07:14:32 PM »
Hey fella's I have never been in the area before and now I am not looking for a secret spot and to the guys that are gonna give me the get out there and scout just save your breathe I am just looking into new territory and just would like a general idea of where a guy could start looking for elk. Any little bit would help I just don't know where to begin and having a new baby doesn't leave me much time to scout so just a little help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys and don't think I am out to steal secret spots just looking for a little help.

Big Huckleberry or little huckleberry, anywhere around sleeping beauty.  There are three units that come together in that area so it would also help to know what season you were intrested in hunting.  Archery, smoke pole or modern.

Send me a pm if I still have friday and Saturday off I'm heading up to play.  I was going to archery hunt but Im changing my tag to muzzleloader.  I will show you a couple of spots, there is lots of room and a lot of elk.

Dang I have to work Friday and Saturday I have a company retreat thing but if you decide to head up there again before season I would love to tag along. I am kind of a one man wolf pack right now cause all of my buddies are doing different things this year.

Adams has elk in spots as does the entire GMU it resides in but there are certainly an abundance of hunters in most areas.  Whatever you decide, good luck and don't be surprised if you hear rifle shots going off in archery season.  It's pretty close to the folks on the other side of the mountains and they do hunt there during archery season with boom sticks.  Just saying.

Ive herd the south end and north end are better . So the above areas will probly be better then where i would send you.

Crofton and stagman ridge are decent areas.  I found elk up there each year during archery season. I've been out of there a few years now. A fire hit that area a few years ago, so should be some good green up now.
