I shoot my bow for hunting.  I dont come on here to try to teach everyone how to shoot.  I agree with you Shed.  Here is my take on shooting.  Some people can shoot and kill an animal farther than others I dont feel it is for any of us to say what is ethical or unethical.  This was my first year of bow hunting and I shot a little rag horn at 61 yards some would say thats to far and "unethical" but guess what I hit it it went about 200yds and piled up hit it right behind the front shoulder.  My point is you can shoot as far as your comfortable with and that is different with each hunter.  I was reading you guys comments I just wanted to say my 2 cents.  I do like to listen and learn from others though and I do believe that Hoyt knows his stuff but I dont think you can teach someone how to shoot better online.

Antler and Hoyt, you 2 need to have an archery shoot off or something, criminy.

"not filling a tag is something I dont think should happen"

Couldn't disagree more. My cousin has been hunting for 40+ years and has killed only one deer, a 160" plus muley. That's all he's ever wanted yet he buys a tag every year just to get out with his dad and us and legally hunt. I don't share the same view, but I think it is cool that he joins us and spends the money even though he doesn't want to harvest a deer. I won't disparage other hunters who just like to get out, that just cuts into the numbers who enjoy our sport.

I have never once claimed to be better than anybody at anything on here. I have nothing to try and prove. I missed, and I can live with that. I guess some people have never missed though.

I never once said anything like that in that reply, I guess if I guy says hey im good at something but I am always wanting to get better, then asks a newbie how he thinks he can criticize them... that makes you a "know it all" I even said id take you hunting on my land.... but if thats how I am then I might as well  really sound that way... I shot 3 deer this year with a bow.... 8 last year... only hunted WA and Or this year.. last year was wa, or , ca and idaho.. how many have you killed this year? or last? and I didnt miss at 60yrds   8)  I have never said im the best at anything, but the succes I have had is hard to argue and thats because i work hard year round getting places to hunt, shooting, scouting etc..and having freinds with 9000 acre ranches helps as well....

I have already said in posts that I missed a ton when I was younger, I think 11 deer in one early season when I was 15... everyone misses, but you have always said long shots are not what bowhunting is about so I found it very funny when you took one and missed.... Im sure if i said I had a 75yrd shot on a doe but clean missed something would have been said about that being to far or unethical.. I do recall a post where you said 80yrd is no matter what unethical with a bow, I was refering to shooting a elk at that range, which is at least 3-4 times bigger of a kill zone and only 20 yrds farther then the small deer you shot at..... doesnt seem any different to me, personally I have no issue with guys shooting long range, as long as they have the skills to do so......

exactly what is so arrogant about truth? do you read the posts ? really? I call people out when they do things they say are not ok for other hunters to do, this is no diff, just like in my pic you saying my arrow looks weird? thats ok though, what im doing is no diff from you... Im far from arrogant, as I recall I have said way more then once I am not the best by far and am always learning.. not exactly that arrogant, neither is inviting brent or any other number of people to hunt on priavte land I worked my ass off to get with 100's of deer on.. not arrogant either.. im here to help, but I also dont take *censored* either and if i disagree with you, ill tell you... and thats fine if you dont want to sit in my sled and talk about  anything, I still have plenty of people that love to fish with me... but your more then welcome to anytime....

As my last post in this thread (hopefully somebody will just lock it), and my last post anywhere you are close to, I just want to set the record straight, since you can't seem to remember...

We were not talking about elk, we were talking about deer (I checked the thread again).

I never said a 60 yard shot was unethical, so don't compare a 80+ yard shot to a 60 yard shot. I didn't do anything that I said wasn't ok for others to do.

Who gives a crap how many deer you have killed this year or any other year? Certainly not me.

I would never come and hunt your private ranch with you.

Like I said before, I have never claimed to be better than anybody on this site, or any other site for that matter. I have never had a holier than thou attitude like you.

If you want to talk facts that's fine, but when you start throwing out stuff I never said, it pisses me off. So, you can either go re-read what was said, or you can continue spouting off :bs: Either way, I won't be responding to it anymore.  :hello:
