Deer camp during late archery
« on: August 13, 2014, 10:13:12 PM »
So we are considering doing a deer camp for 4-5 days during early December in a wall tent. Has anyone done this and what is that must know thing that I don't yet know.

Was it worth it or was it more of a pain in the butt?

I camped 14 days in ferry co last year in late Nov...really nothing different than bringing warmer clothes. I buy N ID energy logs they are 8lbs each they burn hot and long. A pop up awning is nice to have to have a dry area outside of the tent if its raining or snowing

Dont forget to keep your water jugs in the tent so they stay thawed. Let your hunting
Cut lots of firewood then cut even more than that. Get some wood chips or straw at the feed store and spread them around your heavy traffic areas of camp. Keeps the mud down and is not as slick when it gets icy.
