Scope for a Bushmaster Predator AR-15?
« on: December 08, 2008, 05:52:41 PM »
Well, I ordered me up a AR and have a few months to research a scope.  Any suggestions on what to go with?

I will mainly use this as a coyote/varmint rifle.  I want to stick with a variable and so far I like the Bushnell Elite 3200 4x12x40 with Mulit-X recticle.

Any feedack for scopes for this particular rifle?

Burris FFII or Nikon Buckmaster.
Try Cameralandny.com
or SWFA.com

Okay,

Can anyone tell me which is a better scope to go with?  Seems like the bushnell has better field of view and maybe better coatings? course it costs more... the leopold is lighter, cheaper and prolly better customer service.

Which one should I choose between the two?

This scope will be used on my new Bushmaster Predator AR-15, with Larue 104 base/rings. This will be mainly used for coyote, varmint hunting.

Between the choices, the 4200 is the easy choice.
Much better scope.

EB, did you decide which scope to go with?  I'm in the market for a scope on my AR and wondering how things worked out for you.  I'm thinking about upgrading my 7MM scope and transferring a 3X9X40 Nikon Monarch BDC to the AR.  I also have an 3X9X40 Elite 3200 I could use.

I could bring mine over for you to check out Mike. The Nikon swap sounds like it might be the way to go though.

Cool, I was looking at putting on a 4X16X42 Nikon Monarch BDC on the 7MM.

I went with the VX-11 1-4 because with that rifle I'm not going to be shoot real far 250-300 mostly and the scope on weighs 9.2.  I wanted to keep it as light as poss.

I ended up finding a used 3x9x40 Ziess Conquest w/Z Plex reticle.  It is like new condition and I got it for a great price.  Extremely clear and I think it looks nice too!
