Rufus Woods Fishing
«
on:
December 08, 2008, 07:06:46 PM »
Has anyone been out on Rufus Woods in the last couple weeks? I have the 19th - 5th off and I'm planning on going at least once maybe twice. We usually do good. This time I will be taking my new boat and a camera to take some pics so I can share. My biggest to date out there is 17.2 (trolling), they usually average around 2.5 pounds.
thanks for the info...

Its been a while since I have been up there, but you can't go wrong by the fish pens. But if it was me I would be below the dam hookin some steelies, they are bright right now. Thats what I was out doing this morning.

Haven't been there since February and we did better fishing from shore than we did out of the boat. Can't wait to go back though.

We have had days out there where we do better just anchoring below the pens and using bait.
What dam where you fishing below and how did you do? Thanks, I have two weeks off coming up and I want to use it.

My boss went over this last weekend, he didnt fish up by the upper pens where I told him to. He camped at the state park down below a brewster, they only caught 5 fish all weekend, but I cant imagine it being slow this time of year up by the upper pens. With all that blacktail talk earlier, you ought to come over this way and try and find one, there still running around

I haven't been out lately, but have done really well upriver from seatons grove this time of year. Mostly fishing for walleye, and smallmouth. Just fishing the pocket water with jigs when the river is flowing good.

I saw a post on another site of some guys that did real well there not too long ago. I'm definitely going to plan a trip over there within the next couple of months.
