WDFW 2015-2017 hunting season survey
« on: August 18, 2014, 10:49:21 PM »
WDFW just put out a survey on their website asking the publics opinion on specific issues for the 2015-2017 hunting seasons. On of the many issues is archery season dates. I've already filled out mine. Hopefully this will get us better season dates.

I think this is great: All good options, could make this for a great change!

Alternatives

Alternative #1: Standard season dates of September 8th–20th
Alternative #2: A 13-day season that opens the first Friday following Labor Day
Alternative #3: A 13-day season that opens the first Saturday following Labor Day
Alternative #4: Switching the current opening dates for early archery and early muzzleloader seasons (i.e., archery hunters hunt in October and Muzzleloader hunters hunt in September)
 Alternative #5: No change

Well, forget Option #5 !!!!

Here are the labor day dates for the next few years!
Labor Day Dates 2014-2018

Monday, September 7, 2015 - For option #3 Dates would be Sept. 12th - 25th

Monday, September 5, 2016 - For option #3 Dates would be Sept. 10th - 23rd

Monday, September 4, 2017 - For option #3 Dates would be Sept. 9th - 21st

Monday, September 3, 2018 - For option #3 Dates would be Sept. 8th - 20th

For Option #2 just take one day off...

Future labor days through 2025: So the latest start date with option #3 would be Sept. 6th
2019 September 2nd
2020 September 7th
2021 September 6th
2022 September 5th
2023 September 4th
2024 September 2nd
2025 September 1st

Makes for a tough decision on what option. To me it is either Option #1 or #3

I have a number 6. Return to the set dates of 8-21 September. We've lost more than half of the units for late archery. Almost all that's available on the west side is now private land and paid access for limping elk. We should get the lost day and the set season back.

I'd say a big NO to option 4
