Ever hunted it before?  Looks great from Google Earth but not so on the ground.  Probably wouldn't be a bad hunt if you could catch one in the road.  But there is a ton of growth in there lately.  Great bear area.  You are just going to have a problem seeing them.  Not a lot of open area or vantage points to see through the scrub brush.  I was in there last year behind a locked gate.  Here comes Mr. Water Quality tester.  Lots of traffic in there.

It'll probably be a little more crowded now.

Yeah plenty of good hunting around there without going on that trail.

That would not be a fun hunt. You would maybe get a MWG call. My buddy hiked up there grouse hunting once. said he would never go again.

To many folks crapping peanuts up there.  :twocents:

Ha ha, it say's it's a great place to watch wildlife, then mentions birds. Forget about the fact that BEARS LOVE HUCKLEBERRIES!  :yike: Don't worry about bears you silly hikers, just watch the birds.   :chuckle:

I have hunted the south end of the meadow where is sort of washes out into the forest.  About 2 miles south of the trail.  Not a ton of people there.  However the North end of the meadow.  One look at the parking lot on Google Earth would give me my answer.  I counted 11 vehicles.  I am sure there are bear there.  But not worth the hassle of dealing with all the hikers.

I think we need to be cognisiant of the fact that most of that group would not appreciate walking side by side with members of our group.  I just see it as giving us a black eye.  No need to stir up a hornets nest when there are plenty of other opportunities in the area.

I have todisagree with you. I dont see how it would give us a black eye if we are following the regulations. True the non-hunters may not be happy, but that is their problem. We are continually loosing places to hunt while the hikers get more and more oportunities all of the time. As long as there is ground still open to hunt, then we have as much of a right to it as anyone else. Now I would be on my best behavior and not do anything stupid while in the pressance of said hikers, but that's how I operate anyway. As long as we are good stewards of the land, then we have nothing to worry about.
