smoked crappie... anyone tried it?

been looking up recipes online.  seems some have done this, but wondering if anyone here had.  I like you guys better and trust you more than random dudes on those OTHER sites.   

I have a lil tex traeger and have been doing trout this year.  turning out REALLY good, but I wanna catch crappie tonight on Eloika and my wife wants me to smoke them.

tried it a few times and whitefish meat is usually far from good smoked. egg, cornmeal, crisco, eat...
