Hoyt katera limbs///// help
« on: August 19, 2014, 06:27:29 PM »
Ok a Buddie of mine is thinking of getting a Hoyt katera. It's the blackout demo with 50-60 lb limbs. So can he get 60-70 or 70-80 lb limbs and put on it??? Are those cams adjustable ? What would be a good price for this bow? It has truglow 5 pin and qad drop away rest and a quiver. No stabalizer. He said it was in good shape. I think he said the asking price was 390$. I thought it might be abit over priced??? So get it and look for the 70 lb limbs... Or just keep looking for another bow?? If anyone has any limbs let me know. Thanks in advance!

Not sure you can get limbs from hoyt anymore.  Cams are draw specific.

I would contact hoyt and see if the limbs are available. Even if they are, I think you will need to use a dealer to get them. I have seen limbs on ebay, they seem to run around 80 dollars so I would factor that into the cost of the bow. The z3 cam are module specific.

Depending on condition, and level of accessories this sounds like a fair to good price. Not screaming deal, but potential to be a very good value. Not a rip off price IMO. The big question is does he want to mess with the limbs and associated additional cost. If it were me, I would not. Shop for a bow that more directly fits what he's looking for or use the bow as is. Unless he can get a screaming deal on the bow or limbs.
