Great weekend ahead
« on: December 08, 2008, 09:40:14 PM »
Get ready guys.  I got this off of weather.com.  I have a feeling that some new birds are on their way.

Issued by The National Weather Service
Pendleton, OR
2:49 pm PST, Mon., Dec. 8, 2008

... STRONG WINTER STORM SYSTEM THIS WEEKEND...

A SERIES OF DISTURBANCES WILL BRING A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE TO THE WEATHER OVER THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST THIS WEEKEND. THE FIRST COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION BY FRIDAY NIGHT... FOLLOWED BY AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT SATURDAY NIGHT. SNOW LEVELS WILL LOWER TO THE COLUMBIA BASIN FLOOR SATURDAY NIGHT... AND WILL REMAIN VERY LOW THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE MOUNTAINS OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN OREGON WILL LIKELY SEE THE HEAVIEST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS... ALTHOUGH SOME SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE LOWER VALLEYS AND IN THE LOWER COLUMBIA BASIN. COLD TEMPERATURES ARE ALSO IN THE FORECAST OVER THE WEEKEND AND EARLY NEXT WEEK. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 20S AND LOWER 30S AND OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS AND TEENS ARE EXPECTED BY MONDAY. AREAS WITH SNOW ON THE GROUND MAY OBSERVE OVERNIGHT TEMPERATURES BELOW ZERO.

Good luck to everyone
