.223 loaders, got a question
« on: December 11, 2008, 07:21:25 AM »
When loading for my .223 I've had a problem with stuck cases. I'm really getting sick of it. One thing I notice though is that it's always the ultramax or black hills brass which I believe is military. Is the rim weaker on mil brass? I clean the dies all the time and make sure I get even coverage with lube but they still stick.

Will I have better results with winny or Remmy brass?

I use Hornady one shot is that nasty rcbs better?

Anybody out there have any tips??

If its millitary brass the necks are thicker and that might be your problem. 5.56 brass has thicker walls then .223 brass. :twocents:

Be careful of applying too much lubrication also. It will make the case stick if it is too much.
Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

I've loaded quite a bit of the LC military brass with out any problems. I also only use RCBS case lube that came with my kit 11 years ago. Only because I'm too cheap to get something else.
