342 Wenas Wildlife Area Spike. I was told by the game warden, that I killed the only bull in the GMU this modern season. That was as of yesterday. I'm sure there will be more when the bad weather hits. Ran right at me within 50 yards in an open meadow. Down he went.

nice spikes people
nice elk in all.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Well I started out passing on 2 spikes the first week of my Observatory bull tag.   :o After that I didn't see a darn elk until Wednesday the following week around 1:40 a mile away.  I hauled ass to pick up my buddy and jump off the cliff and big my first bug bull. I closed the distance to 360 yards and dropped him. All three of use spent the night in canyon because it was to dangerous to hike out the 1 1/4 mile hike out of the rough creek of barber springs. It was cold and wet but I had a little tarp in the pack and we had a fire. The bull was wreath it tough. We rested after the first pack out and returned for the rest the next day. Well here he is

idaho the last two years has been tough, the elks habits have changed due to the wolves.  Still love to hunt it but certain areas have really changed.  Nice job guys!!
