I have had the Carhartts for 7-8 years and they are very heavy duty. My fishing buddy has them too and he works construction using them. Mine are black but for safety I would rather have something in a bright color so if you went overboard it would be easier to find you.

It's a one day trip. Hopefully I'll survive. The ones I got are a dark green. But they had yellow
Then I'll keep em in my truck for nasty weather duties
If you want me to exchange for yellow put up a vote :chuckle:

Anybody know how the Tuna bite has been? My trip is this Sunday. Stoked to say the least. Some friends fished over there last week for 5 days and didn't catch one tuna. (they were not with a fishing guide, but had fished before with success). Makes me a little nervous.

Mark will put you on fish. I wouldn't be surprised to see you guys plug the boat.

I went out with Mark with a group of buddies 2 weeks ago and plugged the boat.  We were on fish all day.  On our way home from the tuna grounds by 11:30. It was epic.

I'm assuming plugging the boat means lots of fish. What is an average catch #? Is their a limit or just a rule of thumb?

Marks boat will hold about 40 fish for 6 anglers.

Buddies got back last night from 4 days out there. Said it has been unusaully slow for this time of year.
Good days, slow days. You just never know.
If the Tuna are farther South and the charters are going out front of Ilwaco or the like, you will still be fishing the Westport areas as Marks boat cant make those long runs on his single day charters.

Been there, done that. With a little luck, the fish will move back in and up. If he offers to do a half day Salmon and the Tuna is slow. Id jump on it!

Mark's boat holds more than 40 fish. I can guarantee that first hand.  :chuckle:

Mark can easily run wherever the fish are... he does it every day. The fish have been south a ways this year, a buddy had to go down to the 25 line to find them this weekend, but never went past the 125 line. I've fished down to the 17 line in my boat from westport, makes for a very long run but no one has been having to go that far this year. If they were, Mark could certainly make that run... no problem.

To plug the boat its just how many fish the boat can hold and keep cool in ice. 40 would not plug Marks boat, he just got 80 the other day. It depends on how big the fish are though, I've had 46 plug my boat and also had just over 30 and no where to put anymore.

The fishing has been phenomenal lately (all summer long actually). I would bet good money your arms will be sore after your trip.
