Hey, where'd my sight go?
« on: September 05, 2014, 06:17:44 PM »
Here comes a dumb question.  The side of my sight ring is substantially hidden behind the riser in order to line up my pins to the bullseye.  What would a person do to get the whole sight ring out from behind the riser in full view and still line up with the bullseye?  I'm thinking this problem is related to my anchor point but I'm not certain how to address it.  Need a little guidance, please.

 :dunno:
Smaller sight ring maybe?
It seems like most bows now have risers that allow a pretty large ring without blocking your view of it when sighting.

Sight window on most bows today are cutout past center about half to three quarter inches.  Doing the math on a multiple pin sight guard and you probably aren't having much issue with your anchor point.  Just the way it is with anything over a 1.5" diameter pin guard.  I prefer small pin guards, but I also never center the guard unless as comes natural with a single pin sight.

I am the growing minority.  I like to let the subconscious mind do what comes naturally.  That means centering the pin.  I have enough problems without consciously trying to make my mind do two things it doesn't want to during a shot.  But I'm the red headed step child these days.  Not really a right or wrong way of doing it, but I personally will always take centering the pin over the alternative.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Sounds like my pin guard is on the large side with a 2 1/8" inside diameter.  About 1/2" if that is hidden behind the riser.  Maybe that's just something I need to accept then.  Thanks. :hello:
