I bought a few boxes of 2 3/4 #6 once and limited out 2 days in a row using them. It was kinda a fluke but very memorable. All the birds dropped in at15 yards wind at my back.

3" #2 black clouds for me. They are dirty though.

Dirty is right.... if you are a good shot, then black clouds tear up huge holes in the meat.
But, if you suck at shooting...   they are great. Cause it only really takes 1 bb to tear through a duck and kill it.

You should really shoot more for the head and neck. Try it sometime.

In the past I used whatever was on sale at Walmart or Bi-Mart.  I have a good bit of Winchester Super X, Remington Sportsman Hi-Speed Steal, & Federal Speed-Shok.  Mostly in #2 and #3.

Last year when Hevi-Metal put their rebates out I bought a few 3" #2 boxes to Try it.  I really like the loads and bought 3 more boxes on sale this year with rebates again.  I don't like that it is almost $1 a shell but I get less cripples trying to swim away so I end up using less and folding more birds.

3" #2 - 1-1/8 -1-1/4 oz. Nothing slower than 1,400fps.  Usually shoot Hevi-Metal, but don't have any issues with the cheap stuff.  It drops them just fine as long as you figure out your lead.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

3" Hevi-Metal #2. Got a good deal on a case from a forum member last year. Otherwise it's Kent #2's.

Patterned some 28 gauge HW13 #6 loads last night.  Going to take the little gun out this year.

I will shoot just about anything at ducks, 2 3/4 up tp 3 1/2, 6 shot and up. Geese, I shoot 1 3/8 oz of BBs in 3", which is my favorite, but will soot the 1 3/8 oz 3 1/2'' if that is all that is available. Much more shot out of a 12ga  3 1/2 the pattern begins to suffer.
