Hey everyone...I just turned twenty and am completely new to bowhunting. I messed up my back early this summer playing baseball so wont be playing this fall and decided to take hunting seriously while I had the time. I will be hunting deer and elk mainly and would like to make the best of this free time I have. Im willing to hike back many miles to get away from the crowds of hunters but not exactly sure where to do this at. I heard the coast has lots of elk and units like Winston and Ryderwood. As far as I can see though these units have millions of roads where other people can access. Also...does anyone know about the Indian Heaven Wilderness area...heard there was elk up there? And what about high country buck hunts...places where I would have to pack in...get up really high and not have any competition from other hunters at a really nice buck? Any type of help would be greatly appreciated...thankyou very much.
