Scouting trip up Cradle Lake
« on: August 30, 2014, 11:44:08 AM »
Anyone ever hunt up in the alpine wilderness? Any suggestions where to go or check out.  Gonna hike up to Cradle Lake ( 9 miles) this weekend to get away and hopefully see some animals. Heard there is an elk herd up in those parts. Might take the rifle in case we see a good bear!

Steep trail.  Gets an unusual amount of rain too.  Yes there is a herd of about 9 elk in there too.

Cradle lake is not in the pasayten. Steep trail, awesome area.  I have no idea if it gets hunted hard. Definitely deer up there, I known there are elk down lower too. I would not want to pack anything out by foot though.
