What program for editing trail cam pics?
« on: September 08, 2014, 04:45:00 AM »
I have about 1600 pics I need to go through. Probably delete at least a 1000 of them. Wondering what program is easiest to do this stuff. Would love to share some pics. But have some work to do first.
Thanks,
HntnFsh

Well if you want to share them here just use Paint as you will need to change the size down to 600 X 800 to be able to download them to Hunt Wa.

It really depends on what you are trying to do with them.

You can use Windows Photo Viewer to view and delete them one by one.
You can use Windows Explorer and select Large Icons for viewing and delete in batches or by selection.
As mentioned, you can use MS Paint to resize or crop.
You can download GIMP and have a range of editing options.

I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager for resizing and cropping.

www.irfanview.com/

IrfanView can batch resize, batch edit, etc.

I just do this. I don't edit mine...just save them or delete them. I don't ever need to resize either. Maybe just where I have the settings at with my camera. I've gone through +/-10k pictures throughout the summer this way.

This looks like my best option. Mostly just want to delete lots of pics

Go to "View" on the top tool bar, click on the biggest thumbnail so you can see them best, hold down "Control" and click on each picture you want to delete. When you get done selecting all the pics you want to, right click then "delete". I think that's the right steps anyway...give it a shot.

I use Google's Picasa,  it is free and does everything that I need it to do.  You can group a bunch of pictures together to delete and also export pictures in any size that you want for emailing or posting on here.
