Hey Dale, my friend Jerry and his son are hunting with you right now. I've been telling him for a couple of years to checkout/join this site and he hasn't  done it. Make sure to give him a hard time about it. Lol I heard that he got a 5x4 whitetail today, Im happy for him.

Yes, Jerry whacked a 4x5 right at the end of the day. His son passed a smaller 4x4 earlier, I guess it didn't have much for tines. I will mention the forum to him. Here's a couple photos of the buck.

Just got word that two trespassers killed a buck and messed up the morning hunt. Daniel caught them red handed with the 4x4 buck, we got names, address, and photos.  :bash:

I'm saving my change so that I can finally fill my deer and bear next year. I've followed your threads showing the success your clients have had since joining and every year I tell the wife next year. Should my dear friend and hunting partner of 20 + years some how by the grace of God makes it for 1 more hunting season you will have 2 new clients.

Thanks for sharing Dale,

Kenneth

After the "trespasser botched" morning hunt (they literally killed a 4x4 buck a couple hundred yards from where JJ was on stand) the pressure was on to find another buck today so that JJ could be back to work Monday morning. As luck would have it they saw another buck and put a quick stalk on it, JJ made a 200 yard one shot kill and dropped the buck. Nice shooting JJ! Not as good of buck as the 4x4 that the trespassers killed out from under him, but good enough to notch his tag. Drive home safely guys!

unfortunately Dale it will be just myself as of 8:10 pm my friend lost the war as the cancer took his life. I just got back for the hospital and taking his wife home. I received a call from her while the Mrs. and I were checking out concunelly around 330 saying the doctor gave him hours to live. We speed out of their and about the time I hit I -5 I got the call he had passed on. 2nd guessing I wonder if I should have left town, but it was the last weekend with the wife before her surgery at 5am Monday. Did I make the wrong decision I'll never know.

To me your clients seemed to have made some great decisions.

I just saw the topic about your friend, that's tough to lose a good friend. Remember: Hind site is always 20/20, you had no way of knowing he would pass so quickly so don't beat yourself up, the good part is that he is no longer suffering. My condolences to you, your family, and his family, so sorry for the loss.  :(

Best wishes to you and your wife that all goes well with her surgery, be strong, she needs you.

Nice job JJ, I'm glad you and you dad both shot nice bucks. Meat in the freezer.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Another great hunting day, three hunters arrived last night and all left today with their bucks. Last year Ann passed a few smaller bucks and didn't get one, this year she said she was shooting the first buck she saw and dropped a spike first thing this morning at 150 yards. Her dad Hank nailed his 5x5 later in the morning at about 80 yards, both one shot kills, great shooting.

Steve had tried hunting a few other places in the state with no luck, he arrived last night but only had one day to hunt before he had to get back to work. Daniel got him on a buck this morning but Steve missed, then they saw another buck but they weren't fast enough getting on the buck and he disappeared. This afternoon Steve got the monster trophy (a new Bearpaw record for smallest buck ever), but Steve was happy to take home some venison and we were happy to remove that little spiker from the gene pool, so everybody came out a winner.

All in all it was another good day of hunting.

Guide Daniel had the last day of WA late buck season off so he set out to fill his own tag. He saw a buck that had been wounded low in the front leg and opted to take it, congrats on such a quick hunt Daniel, and that should be some good table fare.

I left immediately after WA closed to help finish our Montana deer hunts. We hunted hard for 5 days, I showed my hunters 27 bucks on the best day and 13 bucks on the slowest day. We were fairly selective except for one father and son, they were probably too anxious and likely shot lesser bucks than I think we could have taken. We killed some nice bucks and all but one hunter told me it was the best deer hunt they had ever been on in their life. Here is Doug with his unusual 5x6 whitetail. Thanks again for hunting with us Doug.

This hunt was a donation to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation from Bearpaw Outfitters and MOGA. Don dropped this dandy Montana whitetail with guide Nick yesterday, congrats!

The last couple weeks have been busy.

We did another TV show in Montana with Brotherhood Outdoors. Daniel Lee Martin and Julie McQueen brought along Steve Lefaver from Illinois to hunt Montana Whitetails. They were the first guests to stay in the new cabin on the ranch. We saw a lot of bucks including 27 bucks one day, shot a porcupine, saw some coyotes but no good shot opportunities, missed a big whitetail, we were going to do a brush drive for a 19-20 inch whitetail that we saw and then we saw a mule deer buck that Steve was excited to put the smack on. (Steve had never seen mule deer before)

The show will air in a few months (I don't have a date yet), watch it to see the hunt unfold.
