Amy called me last year and said her and Ian were getting married and they wanted to book a hunt as a wedding gift to each other. They were married this summer and arrived for their hunt with anticipation of Amy taking a deer on her first hunting trip ever, the only cog in the wheel is that their trip had to be shortened by a day and a half due to job commitments. Ian said if Amy got her buck that was the main goal and then he would hunt.

On the first day Amy nailed this young buck and Ian began hunting. On the third day guide Brian spotted this buck at long range and Ian connected with his second shot, nice shooting Ian and congratulations to both of you on such an awesome wedding gift to each other. We wish you both many happy years together!  :IBCOOL:

We do a few mule deer drop camps in Idaho for guys that like to hunt hard in rugged country. We packed two guys in two days before season, yesterday I received a text that they had their first buck down, we will pack it out tomorrow while they continue hunting for their second buck. Nice going guys!

Tara and Daniel have hunters hunting whitetails in Washington, Saturday one buck was killed and several small ones passed. One hunter had another cougar incident, the big cat was crouched down stalking him, it scared him terribly bad, he missed the first shot and the cat stayed crouched down and focused on him, he fired a second shot and missed again, at least the second shot scared off the cat. The poor guy was still so shook up he hardly had any dinner last night. This ios the 9th hunting incident this year involving cougars, this is not normal.

Everyone has been rooting for a young boy in camp to get his first deer, tonight it happened, he got his first buck! Congrats on the making of another hunter.  :IBCOOL:

Nick has been guiding a friend who has hunted with us several times. They have seen over 100 deer and numerous bucks, but they are holding out for a big buck, my fingers a crossed hoping for that big guy to show himself.

I have been guiding some guys from California, one of the guys "Jack" had a 3x3 and a fork buck at 90 yards but had some equipment difficulty and the bucks walked, we have a couple more days to find him another buck, his partner John sacked up this big wide mule buck yesterday morning right after daylight, John made a 178 yard, 1 shot kill, the buck only went a few yards and tipped over, a great shot by a great guy. This was a heavy buck, I figured he weighed pretty close to 275. Congrats John, it was my pleasure!  :hello:

The other drop camp hunter killed his mule deer buck today, the first guy who killed has a second tag so they are still hunting. My hunter Jack nearly got his buck this morning, but the buck got into the trees and we didn't have a shot. Guide Ray's hunter hit a buck today and they tracked most of the day but didn't get it. Another hunter passed a 3x3 this morning.

In Washington another hunter shot at a cougar but missed. We've shot at almost as many cougar as bucks since the opener. Predator management is totally out of hand in NE Washington, a pitiful state of management. This makes 10 cougar incidents while hunting this year in Washington.

Just crazy, these cats are everywhere including right next to homes. WDFW needs to pull their head out before another kid pays the price of poor management while playing in the back yard. :twocents:

Another hunter made an outstanding shot on this nice buck with guide Nick a short while ago. The hunter had passed numerous smaller bucks, when they spotted this buck they knew it was the one, they stalked as close as possible and the hunter made an awesome long range shot, they are packing the buck out now. Congrats on the great shooting and a fine buck, well done!
