Dale- thanks again for outfitting a great hunt! Guide Nick was awesome, a true professional in his craft. Idaho was a challenging hunt for me due to weather (literally ranging from sunny, high 60’s one day, to snow and sub-zero temps the next) and rugged terrain (at times seeming to be uphill both ways-LOL).  Despite the difficulties, due to Nick’s expertise we saw numerous deer every day (as well as beavers, elk herds—to include a couple of nice 6x6 bulls, a moose, and a bald eagle too).
On our last morning Nick spotted this mature 4x4 buck at nearly a mile away up on a hillside and the stalk began. After an arduous approach we were finally able to close the distance within my effective engagement range and I harvested a great buck, and even more importantly, I obtained a rewarding hunting experience which will last a lifetime – I’m already looking forward to my next hunt with Bearpaw Outfitters!

Badge251 it's always our pleasure when you come hunting with us, thanks again, we are looking forward to the next hunt with you.

FYI

We got two more mule deer yesterday, the TV show got a 4x4 buck with Brian and they passed a spike bull elk. Watch for the show on "Brotherhood Outdoors TV". I'm hoping they find a bigger bull for a really great show.

Nick and his next hunter went after the big 6x6 bull yesterday, they spotted the herd at 500 yards and moved in closer, there was 4 bulls and 22 cows, they were right into the herd, a big 5x5 stood up at 50-60 yards and Nick whispered "shoot", "shoot", "shoot", "shoot", "shoot", finally the bull turned and took off with the rest of the herd and then Nick heard the safety come off. Apparently the hunter had forgot to take off his safety.  :yike:

Same guy killed a buck later in the day with Nick.

I gotta go pack out a drop camp, will post more later.

Lamont, the guy who missed the chance at the big bull killed a buck later in the evening on the first day of his elk/deer combo hunt with Nick. Sorry I don't have photos of the buck yet. The hike into the big bull was a tough one as badge251 can attest so the next morning Lamont and Nick went across the valley into easier country and Lamont nailed this spike bull, sweet success on his first elk and deer combo hunt.

We hunt from a very comfortable lodge so many hunters bring their wives. Lamont and his wife spent the last couple days recreating on UTV's and sight seeing. All their meat is ready at the meat shop now so they are leaving today. Thanks again Lamont for hunting with us.  :hello:

(nothing like a Jacuzzi bath and a comfortable bed after a day's hunt, yes it has snowed already a couple times)

We could use another bear or buck hunter in NE WA, there are lots of bear and bucks, we have some apple trees that are being hit by bear. If anyone wants a bear/deer combo hunt we could do that too. We have some available dates later this week, a good chance to get one or two animals.

Guide Daniel had an afternoon off and went on a short hunt for himself, he sacked up a nice young good eating sized bear, congrats Daniel.

I still have a couple outfitter sponsored limited-entry mule deer hunts in southern Idaho. We want to do these hunts the last 5 days of October when the rut is usually starting. Should be a great hunt with a chance of taking a trophy class buck.

Father and son Troy and Darren Cothern scored on mule deer bucks on our Idaho mule deer hunt. Troy smoked his 3x3 the first day. On the 3rd day of the hunt two bucks came running at guide Nick and Darren, a big 28ish buck was chasing a 24 incher, Nick said take the second buck, the bucks were running straight at them, at 25 yards Darren dropped the smaller lead buck, even though it was the smaller 24 and had two points broken from fighting, it was still a very nice buck. I told Darren the taxidermist could probably repair the broken tines if he wants them repaired. Congrats to both of you.

Jose smacked this 4x4 mule buck right before dark but the buck took off, the blood trail played out so it was decided to come back looking again in the morning hoping the buck might be spotted in the daylight. They tracked a ways and lost him again so they just started covering ground hoping to find the buck. As luck would have it they spotted the buck at 186 yards bedded down, it was still alive. Jose quickly dispatched the buck and they took photos before piecing him up for the pack out. They found that the first shot had been a little far back and low, it took out part of the liver. It's a good thing they were determined to find the buck even though he had quit bleeding on the trail. Congrats to Jose, looking forward to hunting with you again.

This whitetail was taken during the general season hunt in WA. There was a group of 4 good bucks hanging together on one of the properties, that group is now a group of 3 good bucks. Congrats to the lucky hunter.

I've got to leave in an hour to do a Montana deer hunt starting in the morning then after that hunt back to Idaho for some moose hunting, then back to Washington for the late buck season. When I get photos gathered up we've got more photos to post, just been too busy here lately. It's been a great fall for us and our hunters, I hope the success continues through the rest of our hunts this season.

Good luck to everyone out there hunting this fall.  :hello:

Love this thread as I just joined the site.

Question:  I am going to be doing the late archery hunt in NE Washington (209/215) for mule deer.  Was wondering if you guys have any unguided or trespass fee type land in this area.

We are doing the late Mule Deer archery season Nov 21-26.

Your spring bear hunts are crazy awesome!  Love reading about those.

Sorry I don't have any private land in those units.
