Great looking buck. Heck of a shot. I was always afraid of even having a pin light on the bow even without batteries in it. Figured I'd get the wrong guy/gal and get ticketed.

Whats the plan? Velvet on mount? Again, great deer and even better shot! Thanks for showing him off.

MX Racer, that is some terrific hunting.  A lot of people don't appreciate how steep those dry canyons can be, and also can't even begin to fathom how hard it is to sneak a shot on an alert deer.  I, for one, could never make such a shot, and my hat goes off to you.

Tell us, if you would, what was the angle on the shot?  (I assume you were hiding for quite a why by some brush, and were shooting downhill, but that is just a guess.)  Walk us through your hideout and the shot, please.

Thanks guys, I got to my spot about 4pm and about 6pm I passed 3 legal bucks largest being about a 20" wide 3x4 with eye gaurds that walked right in front of me. I was actually setup about 20 yards up from the bottom of the eyebrow next to an old fence line and 4 bucks walked out from above me and crossed the fence line I was sitting next to so I ranged the buck I decided to take several times and took the shot. So the shot was at a pretty steep uphill, 80yard pin uphill = double lung dead deer. (Yes I shoot and practice long shots alot)

Good job Mxracer.

By the number of successful hunts you've had it sounds like you are one with your hunting grounds. Much more impressive then long shots or big racks. Diligent scouting and paying attention to detail has paid off.

Apparently a lof of folks didn't read the F&S article a few years back about how shooting at 100yds can improve your confidence and accuracy and 60-80 yds... Congrats buck killer
