Wolves Howling near Republic
« on: September 04, 2014, 07:02:27 PM »
My hound hunter friend captured wolves howling today on trail #41 going up to Midnight Mountain north of Republic Washington going up to the Kettle Crest Trail off of Lambert Creek. This might be the unconfirmed Boulder Pass wolves the WDFW says is there, but obviously can't prove. Well, it's on audio, so you can't disprove that.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I'm going to be hunting in republic from the 14th through the 19th. Hope I don't have any encounters with wolves. I will have my g20 on my hip the whole time.

If they ever try to attack you just make sure you shoot them head on  :yeah:

I'd fall down and play dead because the hippies say that's what to do. Then I'd grab my environmentally friendly handi-wipes and clean up my mess. That is blood from a frontal head wound to said non-existent animal................

Regardless, one shot should be placed in the chest etc.-headon, remember the USFWS and WDFW will be crawling in places you don't want them.

I heard them there last year.  Got my bear opening day just off trail #13 and decided to spend the afternoon calling bobcat. As it got dark I decided to throw a coyote serenade and boom they interrupted me instantly. I've been hunting coyotes for years!!! Their are wolves there on Sherman pass.

I have buddies that hunt republic every year, and usually bring home mounters, but since they have started seeing wolf tracks, the deer have been pretty hard to find  :bash:

one of my favorite spots up on top of Sherman seemed to turn into a ghost town starting 3-4 years ago.  Im sure its not a coincidence

We have been seeing wolves and their tracks from the rez line, to the San Poil on over to Sherman for 10+ years now.  There were 3 that got into my honey hole spot about 5 years ago and made it damn near impossible to get archery close to any decent buck.  They were so aware of every tiny thing and spooky.  I heard of a Colville Tribal member who supposedly shot one in the Hall Creek drainage last year.
