Weekend was a good time! Saw roughly 100 deer, 20 bucks and about 8 bigger bucks all similar to the pic of the four-point. Saw a big 3x4 with a group of does rutting pretty hard. Heading out tomorrow for a couple days!

Payne sounds like what we saw, a few bucks chasing pretty hard! About 4 to 5 mature deer a day.. I think you past me opening day while I was glassing.. Good luck to ya, headed back up til Saturday!

That is a pretty nice buck.  I think I would have had to shoot that one.  Who is holding your ammo? It is early in the hunt and I am sure you want to enjoy it a little longer, hopefully one like that is still available later.

Wow...gonna tag along on this one. That's a solid buck. Not sure I could've passed.
Anxious to see how this one plays out.

Payne, I keep coming back to this thread hoping for a little insight as to what it is about that buck that allowed you to not shoot. Was it in a spot that you couldn't get to? Is it that the back forks are a little weak?  Do you think this deer is going to be around for a while?  Have you seen bigger?  Is there something in particular that you are looking for? Maybe non-typical or something is what you are looking for.  From what I have heard about the herd decline in that unit this time of year I am thinking that is a pretty good buck for that tag.

I am sure there is a reason I am just dying to know what it is.  Good luck on the hunt and I hope you get what you are looking for.
