LaPaz Mexico
« on: September 11, 2014, 09:50:18 PM »
Got back from LaPaz Mexico on Tuesday night.  We had a great time, but unfortunately the fishing wasn't the greatest due to the Hurricane and then the Harvest moon...  We did catch a bunch of Dorado and I got my very first Roster Fish...  Wife stepped up and fished- was a great trooper to hang with me for the entire fishing time!!  Buddy had to bail due to his mother in law passing.  We lost 3 days of going out due to the weather conditions.  Hurricane passed up and went up the west coast versus inside, but really mixed the water up.  Had a Marlin on for about 45 seconds.... 30lb test got shredded, so probably wrapped his bill, or we thought any how.  Going back in May 100% for the mix bag of fishing...  All fishing was on light tackle, light leaders and all live bait...  Booked with Tail hunters - excellent customer service!  They meet us every morning, super nice guy Jonathon and his wife Jill!  Most guides had basic English.  LaPaz doesn't have the pushy Cabo crap with everyone trying to sell you something at every turn, laid back environment for sure- best part super safe.  Heck way safer than going to Subway in Tukwila for lunch!!!   lol  Lot of retired Americans hanging around..  Cheap Condos.....  I will return for sure...   Learned a lot about the whole area....

Nice, Mike. You got a bigger rooster than I did when we were there.

Good times!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Nice pic's and good timing for me.  Heading out in the morning for our yearly trip to Mazatlan.  Don't know if I'll get out fishing this trip or not, just got off crutches from a torn achillles and not sure I wanna risk the bouncing around you usually get on a sailfish trip there.  Those light tackle trips are a lot of fun, might try that if the weather looks cooperative.

Looks like a great time! If you have a day off on your next trip, take a drive to Todos Santos. It's a neat little town probably an hour or so west.

Nice fish, you got some beautiful pictures! I got this Rooster in 2012 out of Puerto Valarta.  Caught him late in the afternoon. Captain Nacho was pretty exited, so I think they thought it was a good Rooster!
