Don't post negative stuff about this guy. The moderators just remove it. they seem to like this guy. just my  :twocents:

Yeah why is that? :dunno:  What's the world coming to? :bash:  Huntingwashington should ban these yo yo's just like they should be banned from the river :twocents:

because we have lots of people who legally deal with illegal activity on the boards and negativity isnt really going to stop bad behavior just feeds it.

I simply dont understand what he is saying because of text speak and gibberish the fish he posts are delicious looking.  People do not need to consult MLA or APA to share a good fish.

Why should he be banned? Because of how he choses to write?  Maybe he talks that way all the time or maybe it is just for the internet, unless you know him personally, it is all speculation.

He doesn't call people names, I don't think any of his posts have "censored" show up in them because he used a cuss word.

He doesn't make fun of people or insult them.

Yes, his posts can be tiring to read or decifer at times, but I do enjoy seeing the pictures of his fish.

I agree.
Not my fav topics to read but he isn't hurting anyone.

For those who have called for his ban or saying that he drags the site down (in other threads)...just know that we have had the same requests for a couple of you in the past. But we try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

No one is forcing anyone to read the posts. If you don't like it, don't read it or put the member on your ignore list.

Considering he only has 31 posts I cant imagine him being that annoying yet.   Looks to me like his freezer has more salmon in it than mine.  That's what really stinks.   LTL....good to see you man.

The Puyallup is a flossery all the way.  It's legal and I've done it myself so I'm not going to knock it.  But anyone who thinks salmon fishing in 1-2" water visibility by drifting an 8' leader across the Puyallup entices fish to bite clearly is not aware of how this fishery works.  That rig does nothing more than floss the gaping mouths of salmon swimming up the river and hooking them.  The fish are completely unaware of the rig until it hooks them.  Color of the corkie and the additional of smelly jelly don't matter one bit.

Yeah sorry I am not going to judge that.  It's bringing in big dollars for the outdoors stores and honestly who cares?  So long as they're fishing legally I'm fine with it.  This is like an archery hunter getting mad at all the compound bow users.

I disagree,
I have fished the Puyallup for many years, though lately not as often as I use to. I do not care for the "pink" crowd as I call them. It seems the pink runs bring out the worst in fisherman. They leave trash everywhere and are generally rude.
Yes, there are flossers on the Puyallup just like any other river.
If you think color makes no difference or that the fish can't see it?
I believe you are dead wrong.
Last time I was down there with my dog at the Alderton bridge, I watched a young kid working a Dick Night in close to the rocks with a light action rod. He picked up two nice silvers doing a slow retrieve literally within feet of the bank.
Myself, I have never caught a salmon or a Steel Head while drift fishing on the Puyallup, that was not hooked in the mouth.
Heck, we use to plunk the Puyallup down by the scales. How can you catch fish plunking if they do not hit it?
Or is that also considered flossing "because it was on the Puyallup"?
I have never needed a leader longer then 6 ft. The leaders I fish with are usually between 24 - 48 inches in length. Though I have not plunked in years, when I use to plunk, fishing a deeper hole I might go to a longer leader around 5 to 6 feet depending on the lure or bait.

Do a google search "rigging for river stealhead" or "rigging for river salmon" the leader lengths are all over the place depending on how or where people fish, not many over ten feet though, LOL.
It might be a good bet if someone is fishing a leader ten or more feet, he might be a flosser.
A better way to tell is the "Snagging Hook Set" at the tail run of every drift, which will pull the leader into the side (outside) of the mouth.
Most people I see fishing the Puyallup, do not do the "Snagging hook set", they retrieve just like people do on the Snoqualmie, Chehalis, the Sky, any other river.
Notice I said "most".
And the "Snagging Hook Set" can be seen on any river in the state.
Been to the Skok lately?

No not to judge flossing because flossing is an art which takes years to master :chuckle: Who cares how he gets his two fish and goes home :dunno:
Not to sound judmental or anything  but aren't folks like ODH usually the belligerent type that ruin a fishery for everyone :dunno:

The state defines snagging as attempting to take a fish with a hook and line in such a way that the fish does not voluntarily take the hook in its mouth.

So explain to me how flossing is legal.

In freshwater, it is illegal to possess any fish hooked anywhere other than inside the mouth or on the head. And here is the rest of how they define snagging.

I purposely left that part out. It doesn't matter if the fish is hooked outside the mouth or on the head (as happens when they're flossed)

A flossed fish has not voluntarily taken the hook into it's mouth. Once again, explain to me how flossing isn't snagging.

But I wouldn't expect any less than for another troll from Gamefishin' to defend ODH's poaching/snagging.

So is side drifting flossing? Same basic setup. I'm a little old school and all I really do is drift fish, Shot leaders around 20" or shorter if i'm throwing bigger bobbers so they don't float to high. But watching all the guides side drifting with what seams like 5' leaders, And a lot of the time the client doent even know there a fish on till it already jumping HMMMM.  In most cases drifting, you better hit im as soon as they grab it or forget it.

No its the elitist snobs that bash everyone that dresses differently talks differently or doesnt use sage fly rods that ruin fisheries to me. He catches his fish has a blast doing it and loves to share it. If you dont like his posts quit reading them and for Gods sake quit B*tching about him. He has just as much of a right to legally catch his limit and share on this board as anyone else.
