hello to all. new guy here seeking wisdom.

hello to all. this is my third post on this site. I apologize for the redundancy. I realize time is running out and therefore my chances are starting to shrink. however, with all the research I have done, I have yet to find a place that I can hunt or what I actually need to hunt (gear wise that is. I plan on archery or modern firearm. I would just like to know what I should bring with me that is a good idea for this area when hunting. the internet is really helpful but it seems like there is a million ways to skin a cat. lol). more specifically, I don't know where it is alright for me to hunt. I am not looking for your secret spot, but I am looking for the area that most people go to (general public) I have seen the gohunt app but it doesn't say park here for this public land. I am concerned about accidentally trespassing. the GMU I am looking at are 624, 627 and or 633. where are spots that I can use? I am always being told to go find some logging roads or just look for all the other vehicles that are just parked on the side of the road. but how do I know that it is alright to actually hunt there? like I said, this will be my first time actually going out to hunt, and I don't want it to be my last because I was in the wrong area. and suggestions? any and all will be greatly appreciated

I didn't get WDFW's GoHunt map either till I figured it out....  (I was looking at deer areas) so I selected deer areas and public, private land, reservation, ect. And the green dotes mean public hunting land so just click the green dot and then select more info then you have all you need. Gear wise you'll need a LOT I have a list I give to other hunters if you want it, by gear what do you mean? Clothes? Everything? Licenses?
definitely don't just pick a side of the road and hunt!
get a FREE WDFW hunting guide at almost any store in the hunting section. Cabela's, WalMart, ect.
in the back of the book look at 'Area description' and look at the GMU's you like and you can see the exact boundaries.

and I don't think there is any public hunting in those GMU's. What are you hunting?

For the area you're looking at, and with very limited time, it sounds to me like your best bet would be to purchase a Green Diamond access permit. (Green Diamond is a timber company) It's only $75 for non-motorized access.

I know I will need my licenses, a game tag, my weapon of choice, a good knife and water. but what else or things that aren't taught by the hunters ed course.

I would suggest Cabela's bargain cave for camo. You'll need a coat, pants, 400sq hunters orange vest ($5 at WalMart, big 5, or online), a under shirt that is also camo, and a good pair of boots. Some scentless soap would help. And make sure to wash your camo without soap that will smell unnatural to a deer. You will also need a watch to keep track of the time and to help you know when to use your deer calls. You need face paint or a hat that will cover your face. You'll need some good deer calls of course but make sure not to use anything electronic. A cooler incase you get a deer. Binoculars are a must. Gloves so you can pull the trigger at the right time. And I would buy just a $5 medical kit just in case. Go to realtree camo.com and find out which camo would be the best for the environment you will be hunting in.
and you probably know how to gut a deer but here's the name of a YouTube video that's awesome! Search, Richard Smith field dressing large game.

Don't forget hand Warmers the type that when u take then out of ther package the activate if u don't use them all dAy ace them in a zip lock bag remove air by folding the bag then zip the heating action wil stop and u can use them later. If u eat liver heart carry a cotton or a large plastic bag check liver for flukes is so discard liver. Nothing better then liver n onions with a large dash of wine vinager half way through the cooking process. Or if u don't like liver and have dogs take it home for them

DO TRY THE LIVER AND HEART! many a convert I have seen after frying bacon and then cooking the liver & onions with the bacon & grease. and even my wife loves heart now.
