Thank you everyone. I appreciate all the kind words.

Great hunt boneaddict, I thought it was  impossible to go after one particular buck in that big nasty country, and shooting a long bow.  It's a big big job just to get into that country.  What a great buck. Congratulations.

I have to thank my Dad a lot on this one.  Without his words of encouragement and his excitement of his past history with the country and his knowledge, I wouldn't have made it in there.

I was just sharing a story with a friend on here.   So I was really trying to cut weight on this trip.  I get up on the mountain after my deathmarch and climb, and start setting up camp and pulling stuff out of my pack.  A sidepocket I feel something.   WTHeck.   Its a fist sized hunk of Jasper (a rock).   Dang kids.   I told her I would carry it for her....HOME, not back up the mountain.   100 years from now some rockhound is going to discover jasper where there never was any. :chuckle:

That's funny right there, it didn't kill you it just made you stronger!  ;)

Always so very impressive! Just finding deer like that on that kind of country is a difficult task, but getting within longbow range and sealing the deal, amazing. Congrats, and thank you for sharing!

A buck that big and only 3" of deductions?  That's insane!  What an amazing animal.  Assuming it holds above 189 that puts him #2 in the state for Archery, doesn't it?
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."
