Colockum cow. 13 yards after 3 1/2 hr stalk on the herd she was with, she went 40 yards and piled up.
Smokes!  Did you pack half the elk out on just this load?!!!! Awesome picture!

It was the whole cow. 150+ lbs

I would post my dead cow, but some idiot thought it would be good to slip the arrow in behind the last rib and ended up with a single lung hit and a 5 hour trail job above the tree line (steep). *censored* is going to study diagrams next year and do better. Found her the following  week. Guess my season is over.  Is there no amount of prep that can be overlooked in this sport?  Not a good spot.   Even quartering away.
