Kuiu fit vs Sitka

This is the last year I use cheap camo. I'm really thinking about Kuiu because of price and people who own both Kuiu and Sitka like Kuiu more. So to the people that have used both does the Kuiu fit just like Sitka gear? Size wise / movement wise. The local Cabela's has Sitka in stock so I could try it on to figure out my sizes, instead of ordering what I think fits just to send it back for a different size. Thanks Allen

Kuiu doesn't have tall or long sizes last time I checked if that's a concern. I've heard the inseam is pretty long anyway but I'm not wanting to take that chance so I use Sitka in Long sizes.

Funny, I was just giving my nephew crap about how much he paid for his Sitka in grey glob camo pattern.  I have both and the fit is similar cut wise. I wore my Kuiu Attack pants for the last 9 days in weather that ranged from 28* to 86* and was comfortable. My nephew wore my timberline pants and his 90% jacket and was cold quite often. Verde pattern blended in well enough to have a cow at 10yrds and a calf at 10ft. My

The fit is very similar, with Kuiu having a slightly more athletic cut in jackets, vests, etc.

That's good to know that they fit the same. Spent all weekend looking for a new set of "cheap" pants. Found a pair of  $130 Under Armours Ive been eyeing in catalogs locally but there was so much extra material hanging in the crotch . Really liked the Sitka assents but the wife didn't like the price. What about Kryptic ? Are they the same 4 way stretch material as Sitka?  Is Kuiu the same material as Sitka?

If you are a big guy the fit difference is dramatic!  I can not fit into Kuiu...no way no how!  I like the new Kuiu camo, and the raingear is a step above Sitka IMO.  But since I find breathing a necessity I can not wear the Kuiu.  Way too tight in the shoulders, chest and buttox!  Defeats the purpose to go one size larger as that restricts performance and movement even worse than being too tight.  If sitting in a blind all day I could care less if the fit is too big.  But I don't usually sit in a blind unless wearing black.

So as a man who wears XL everything and is unable to wear XXL without issues I have to choose Sitka or Core4.  I wish I could wear Kuiu!  It is great stuff.  However, I am no longer fit enough to wear it.  Unless they changed fit in the last 18 months you really need to be slim and trim for KUIU in my experience.

I don't have any Sitka but I have set of. Kuiu and Core4

I wear between a 34 and 36 and either a medium or large shirt.

With kuiu I have Kuiu attack pants and they fit good in a 36, I have a large guide jacket that leaves plenty of room underneath for a puffy and layers.
In the merino I wear a large and the sleeves are alittle to long but I can deal with that. I have the gloves and beanie too and they fit like other gloves and beanies of similar sizes.

Has all worked outstanding so far.

Watch Camofire.com for Core4 gear. Great stuff and less $$ than Sitka and Kuiu.

   Hmmm. I wear a 34 waist and  a XL shirt. I tried on the Sitka accent and 90% pants today and they were wearable although I would probably go 36 waist for layers ( hopefully I don't grow into them  ) I just hate not being able to try stuff on.

Kuiu has a good return policy if something doesn't fit you. I like Kryptek too, but not as much as Kuiu.

Kuiu doesn't advertise a tall size but if you read in the descriptions of the pants it will tell you they come with a longer inseam and if you need shorter you just fold them up. I'm tall and skinny and the Sitka tall inseam is an inch short on me but kuiu is just right. I have a few Sitka items that are in excellent shape I'll make you a deal on if you wear size large jackets or shirts. Pm me if interested. They are open country pattern.

Anybody know how the jackets fit tall, slim guys?  I'm 6'3" and fit.  I always have an issue with trying to buy a shirt/jacket  to get the sleeves long enough for my monkey arms without ending up with an extra yard of material around the middle.

Kuiu jackets are cut very athletically. You shouldn't have extra material around your torso. The Rain jackets are sized to layer, so there is no need to get a size larger than you would normally wear.

I was in the same boat as you, I wouldn't buy something I couldn't try on. I tried on all kinds of sitka at the cabelas also, then found good deals online and ordered. Very happy with every purchase!

I would say the attacks are pretty quiet. I wouldn't be afraid to make a stalk with them.

Well guys I was wrong. Last year was the last time I will wear cheap pants.Jackalope got ahold of me and said he was selling some Core4 Element pants and I bought them . They showed up today and these pants where just what I was lookin for. There by far the most comfortable pair of hunting pants I've worn.  I guess I will have to pick up the rest of gear from Core4

I sold all my Sitka gear and switched to Kuiu. For a few reasons. 1) Sitka doesn't have merino layers for warm/cold hunting. I will never wear polyester shirts or base layers again. I took 2 shirts on my 12 day hunt this year in 82 degree weather and they didn't stink at all.  2) I believe Kuiu uses better materials and designs better gear. 3) Cheaper than Sitka without selling through store fronts. 4) The patterns flat out blend in. Vias is GREAT in dark timber/rocky terrain and Verde can be worn east or west side. 5) Kuiu has awesome customer service, ships very quickly, and the articles actually hold their resale value if you wear it and decide to go with a different piece.

The ONLY problem with Kuiu is they have a problem keeping their garments in stock. Popular items are backordered a lot. But plan ahead and don't order it in august and expect it to be there for your archery hunt.
