Here are some pics of mendanhall glacier . I fish and this is one of the kids favorite hiking spots .

I lived there 20 years ago. Your photos look a lot like mine when I was there. When i was posing for a couple photos standing under the glacier I heard a horrible creak. :yike: I ran like hell out of there. About 5 minutes later a section about the size of a football field came crashing down right where I was! I am lucky to be older and very much wiser now. :bdid:

My wife and I took a helicopter ride from town up to that glacier a couple years ago, we had a guide and walked around for hours on it. I will look for the pics and post some.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

I think I was home about 11 days from October 1- Nov 30 this year and thats generally how it goes each year. At some point I need to do damage control the rest of the year ;)

And lets not forget the two weeks in Montana chasing elk in September. :rolleyes:
