I found this Guy last night!
« on: September 17, 2014, 07:26:37 PM »
Well I was unable to hunt the first two weeks of season due to work and an antelope hunt I drew in Arizona. But on September 16 th I got out for my first day deer hunting this season. I had to find a place where I would have cell service in camp. My wife is due in three weeks. So I had to stay near cell service. It took three try's but I found a spot that would work and set up camp. As soon as I was done I headed out it was about 4:30pm. Last season I had set up a tree stand and had some activity 150 yards from it. It seemed to be a good funnel for deer. So about 15 minutes to dark I was able to intercept this guy. In the funnel I found last season. I ranged him and made a great shot. He only went twenty yards and I watched him fall over :IBCOOL: The pictures are poor from low light and I was by myself so I'm not in the pictures. I quartered him up and took everything out in one load. It was a slow bitter sweet trip up to the road. I went and broke camp and headed home. And had a cougar run in front of the pick up.  He stayed near the road for almost a minute. I wish he wasn't on private land :'(

Hntrspud the antelope hunt was fantastic. I got a super buck and seen a ton of new country. Here's the link to it.

Also I switched broad heads this year. I tried the Slick Trick Grizz Tricks last season. They make for a great blood trail, but I can say they are the worst flying broadhead I have ever shot. So I went to the 85 grain G5 This season. Everyone that I have shot flys very well.

Did you find him like that or did you put him in that position? Nice buck, man. What a masher!
