I have never gone there but if there are lots of hunters going in there are animals to be had.  So go in there this weekend to see what is there.  If you like what you see get in there...

The fire in that area was in 2012. This year's fire was to the east. I was just in there last weekend. Saw a few archery hunters but nothing hanging. It's sure thick in there, even with all the timber burned and dead. But tons of lush green stuff growing. I saw one bull at 1:00 in the afternoon, standing in the thick stuff about 60 yards off the road, at first I thought it was a legal bull, but then I saw a small fork on one side. Would have been legal in a spike area but not a true spike area, which this is. One stretch of road there I saw several fresh rubs. So definitely elk in there but it sure doesn't look like a very easy place to hunt.

Have not hunted the area in about 8 years. Lyons rock always had deer and elk. Get away from people and you should do fine.
