We get up there and he's standing 30 yards off the road.   All I see is points and some serious paddle width.....No time to check out this bull.  He's a shooter.

As soon as I get out of the truck he's heading up hill and I can't get a clear shot.  Ben and I run up the hill a bit to get a different angle because there were so many jack pines I couldn't see him.  He's with another solid bull so I needed to make sure I shot the right one.  Then, he pops out and Ben yells "don't shoot".....he and the other bull were inline with each other and it looked like one bull but couldn't tell which body was his.

We keep moving trying to get a better angle of him but he's behind a bunch of crap.  Finally he stands broadside through a bunch of thick willows.  I can see him but not a clear shot because it's so thick.  I move a bit to my right and see a gap of about 1 foot to try and sneak a shot into.  Ben wasn't sure it was a clean path but I thought I could squeeze it in there for a good kill shot and knew it was my only chance to get this bull.

Bam.....he disappears.   Can't hear a thing.   No noise.....nothing.   All of a sudden we see the other bull standing right where he was..........

We wait 5 minutes and then start to move higher to get a better look.  Finally, Ben sees a horn on the ground but it's all he can see.  It's moving so he's not dead and the other bull is standing right over him.

We wait another 10 minutes or so and nothing changes.  Finally, I decide to work my way up there slowly.   Get to about 20 yards and the other bull finally bolts right toward us but we still can't see my bull.

Then at 10 yards we spot him......dead!

Seriously?! This is killing me.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
