cva optima or accura?
« on: September 23, 2014, 03:09:53 PM »
Thinking of buyng a muzzy when the funds are there and am looking at either the accura v2 or the optima v2. Looks like the accura has a better barrel and costs $200 more. Is it worth it?

The accura v2 is a good upgrade over the optima for a smoother bore, lighter and crisper trigger, plus the rubber grip panels and soft touch finish on the stock. Is it worth the extra $$ I can not answer that for you. Its best for you to handle the rifles and decide.

The Accura V2 however works wonderfully with open sights and thumb hole stock. The Optima thumbhole stock can only be used with a scope.

The nw configuration has holes drilled in the breech plug to expose ignition.

If you're hunting in the Northwest, you're restricted to open sights, which limits the advantages to owning the Accura. The Accura is definitely an amazing rifle, and probably my personal favorite. With that being said, we have found that most people go with the Optima and save some money, because the accuracy will be very similar within the restraints of open sights.

Either way, you're going to end up with a great rifle, and both come with Northwest options. Let us know what you choose!
